A. No. Cookies got a bad press when they first appeared, and it's right to
be suspicious. However, cookies merely hold data and variables on your computer

JavaScript trick you into revealing passwords?
A. No. The built- in JavaScript dialog boxes always warn the user that they
are JavaScript boxes in their title bar. This is precisely to avoid them
duplicating the exact look of a real password box.
Q. Isn't
JavaScript a cutdown version of Java?
A. No. They are two completely
different beasts, which happen to have a similar name for marketing purposes.
Java is vastly more complex and powerful than JavaScript, and any similarity in
the look of the code is purely coincidental.
Q. Doesn't
IE JavaScript behave differently from Netscape JavaScript?
A. Yeah, okay, that one's true. There
is a JavaScript standard which everyone is supposed to keep to, but some people
just think they know better. In the short term, you have to check your code in
both browsers. Hopefully, in the long term, everyone will stick to the same
standards.
